Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) role in ORANGE, California. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-risk obstetric unit within an acute care hospital. The RN will be responsible for circulating during deliveries, assisting with high-risk maternal care, and performing sterile vaginal exams in a busy, magnet-designated facility.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid California license; at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (required), AWHONN Advanced (preferred); must be able to circulate and perform sterile vaginal exams; experience in large hospital settings highly preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk deliveries, use of external fetal monitoring, cervical cerclage, and cesarean sections.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The assigned unit is a very high-risk Labor and Delivery department caring for a broad range of pregnancy diagnoses, including preterm labor, hypertension, fetal anomalies, and multiples. The facility offers interdisciplinary support such as IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Staff are expected to work local or within 50 miles, and certain scheduling and credentialing requirements apply.
