Travel PCU/Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Nights

Location: Newport, Vermont
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM | Every Other Weekend
⏱️ Hours: 36 Hours/Week
EMR: Cerner

We're seeking an experienced PCU/Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at a Critical Access Hospital. The RN must be comfortable working independently, performing charge nurse duties, and floating to other units based on staffing needs.

✅ Requirements
Active Vermont RN License or ability to obtain upon acceptance
Minimum 5 years of nursing experience
Strong PCU, Med-Surg, and Telemetry nursing experience
Current BLS/BCLS Certification
Current ACLS Certification
Recent acute-care hospital experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Charge nurse experience and ability to perform charge duties
Ability to float to other clinical areas as needed
Strong telemetry monitoring and patient assessment skills

Clinical Experience
Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU, Med-Surg, and Telemetry patients
Monitor patients and recognize changes in cardiac and clinical status
Manage patients requiring telemetry monitoring and higher-acuity nursing care
Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders
Serve as charge nurse and coordinate unit activities when assigned
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Float to Emergency Department and other units based on operational needs
Provide patient and family education
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established safety standards

Assignment Highlights
36 hours per week
12-hour night shifts
Every other weekend
Holiday coverage required
Pager/on-call coverage may be required
Float assignments may include ED and other hospital units
Critical Access Hospital setting
