The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Montague that are seeking EDM Operators. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Select appropriate electrodes, tooling, and machining parameters for specific jobs.
- Monitor EDM processes, making adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of EDM machines and related equipment.
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and surface finish using various measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues and malfunctions with EDM machinery.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, depth gauges)
- Basic understanding of G-code programming and machine control interfaces
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with laser alignment tools.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
- Basic understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) operation.
- Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
