Project Management Officer

Position Overview

A Project Management Officer is needed to lead a portfolio of technology projects from initiation through delivery. This role sits at the intersection of IT and the business, reporting into a PMO Director, and serving as the primary coordinator across internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors. Projects typically span a few months to one year and require careful management of scope, budget, timelines, and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate brings sharp communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a complex, matrixed organization.

What You'll Do

• Run regular status meetings, produce status reports, and serve as the go-to point of contact for all project communications
• Partner with sponsors, product owners, and stakeholders to define and document project scope, objectives, and expected benefits
• Proactively surface and resolve risks, roadblocks, issues, and key decisions before they impact delivery
• Manage vendor relationships on projects that involve third-party solution delivery
• Build and maintain project plans including milestones, task dependencies, and resource coordination across all contributing teams
• Drive requirements gathering sessions and ensure documented requirements stay aligned with project goals throughout the lifecycle
• Collaborate with fellow Project and Program Managers to reinforce shared PMO standards, tools, and best practices
• Manage User Acceptance Testing, including issue tracking, test script development, and reporting on test metrics
• Lead end-to-end delivery of assigned technology projects, keeping them on time, within budget, and aligned to defined goals

Qualifications

• PMP certification required; Six Sigma, Business Analysis, or Business Process Management credentials are preferred
• 5+ years of experience managing diverse technology projects in fast-paced, matrixed environments; Financial Services or Legal industry background is a plus
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
• Skilled at navigating organizational complexity, managing competing priorities, and resolving conflict with diplomacy
• Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing
