English Language Specialist (Transcription)

Role Overview

Help improve next-generation AI systems by producing accurate, high-quality English transcripts and language data. This remote contract role combines transcription, captioning, careful editorial review, metadata annotation, and collaboration with a customer team.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe English audio files accurately and consistently.
• Review and refine machine-generated transcripts, correcting spelling, grammar, and contextual errors.
• Add relevant metadata tags and annotations to strengthen language-data quality.
• Follow strict quality standards and client formatting requirements.
• Work with the customer team to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities in source material.
• Handle sensitive or confidential content professionally and discreetly.
• Maintain organized records of completed work and contribute process-improvement ideas.

Qualifications

• Fluent English proficiency with exceptional spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
• Extensive experience transcribing and captioning English audio content.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with care and precision in each task.
• Excellent attention to detail when reviewing and correcting machine-generated transcripts.
• Ability to annotate and tag metadata for language datasets.
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines while working remotely.
• Comfort working independently while responding to feedback and updates from the customer team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI, speech recognition, or machine-learning projects.
• Academic or professional background in linguistics, English, or related language studies.
• Familiarity with leading transcription tools and platforms.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.

Compensation

• $20 to $30 per hour.
