What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related activities, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related issues through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter, helping to identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
• Monitor entrances, common areas, and other assigned spaces, helping to support order and following post instructions for visitor interaction and incident response.
• Assist with de-escalation support when appropriate and work with site contacts and/or first responders during medical, behavioral, or other urgent situations.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
