Risk Manager

Senior Project Risk ManagerWe're seeking an experienced Senior Project Risk Manager to lead the risk-management program for a large-scale, technically complex capital construction/upgrade project. This person will serve as the principal advisor on risk, delivering independent assessments of threats and opportunities affecting scope, cost, schedule, technical performance, and milestones — combining program leadership, quantitative analysis, mitigation oversight, and executive reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership: Maintain the Risk Management Plan, taxonomy, and governance cadence; facilitate the Risk Management Board; maintain the risk registerRisk Identification: Run risk workshops and reviews across technical, procurement, staffing, and commissioning areas; develop well-supported risk statements; spot cross-cutting and compounding risksQuantitative Analysis: Build and maintain cost/schedule risk models; run Monte Carlo simulations, sensitivity and scenario analysis; assess contingency adequacy; support rebaselines and funding decisionsMitigation Management: Help owners build measurable mitigation plans; track commitments and escalate stalled or ineffective actionsForward-Looking Analysis: Assess critical-path risk, vendor/staffing/funding exposure, and external dependenciesReporting: Deliver monthly reports and executive briefings; maintain auditable risk recordsTraining: Develop risk-management training and quality standards; benchmark against industry practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree (engineering, construction/project management, business, economics, math, statistics, or related) + 8+ years in project risk management, controls, estimating, scheduling, or complex capital projectsExperience leading risk management on a large, technically complex capital/infrastructure/scientific/aerospace programExperience with risk registers, workshops, senior-level reviews, and mitigation trackingExperience with Monte Carlo simulation, uncertainty/sensitivity analysis, and contingency confidence assessmentExperience integrating risk data with schedules, cost estimates, EAC, and change controlStrong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsDOE Order 413.3B or similar federally governed project experience; familiarity with DOE Guide 413.3-7ASafran Risk Manager, Primavera P6, EVMS experienceExperience with rebaselines, recovery plans, or independent cost estimatesBackground in accelerator/scientific facilities, industrial construction, aerospace, or defensePMI-RMP, PMP, AACE certification, or advanced degree
