Organization Gas Services Business Unit Distributed Full-time Experience Level Mid-level Professional A Snapshot of Your Day Join our team as a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter, where you will play a crucial role in producing precision parts using hand tools and manual operations. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure that the highest quality standards are consistently met. Are you ready to contribute your expertise and make a significant impact in our manufacturing environment? How You’ll Make an Impact You will set up components and operate hand tools to a very high standard. Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications with precision. Measure and visually inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to manufacturing documentation. Perform routine maintenance on tooling and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety procedures. Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from specifications. What You Bring You have preferably completed a recognized full level 3 apprenticeship; candidates with an NVQ level 3 or technical certificate in a relevant engineering field will also be considered. Possess proven experience as a mechanical fitter in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in deburring, lapping, heli-coiling, scraping, and other hand trades to produce high-precision parts; a background in blending or fettling would be an advantage. You have the flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required. Have a strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications. Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements. Possess good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You have computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes. Maintain a proactive outlook towards work and continuous improvement. We offer zero or low-emission power generation solutions, integrating all gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators under one roof.
