Cabarrus County School District • Cabarrus Early College of Technology - Concord, North Carolina Starting Date: Immediately Job Description General Definition of Work Performs challenging professional teaching, providing a broad range of instruction and learning program support to help students develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge for future learning, using various instructional methods tailored to student abilities under limited supervision of the Principal. Reports to: Principal Salary: Based on North Carolina Teaching Salary Schedule. Essential Functions Develop and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials employing effective teaching strategies. Maintain effective classroom management, addressing learning and behavior issues. Assess students regularly using multiple assessment methods and provide progress reports. Communicate timely with parents and maintain constructive relationships with students, staff, and community. Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities by taking necessary precautions. Enforce district policies, goals, procedures, and school rules while adhering to health and safety policies. Demonstrate punctual attendance and effective use of conference and planning time. Keep subject matter knowledge current, attend professional development workshops, seminars, committees, and staff‑development sessions. Respect confidentiality of student records in accordance with professional ethics and laws. Share responsibility for student supervision during the school day. Perform non‑instructional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Standards of Practice Show leadership in the classroom and school community. Build a respectful, inclusive environment for a diverse student body. Show mastery of the content taught and align instruction with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Facilitate learning through appropriate instructional methods, technology integration, and assessment practices. Reflect on practice and pursue continuous professional growth. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree from an approved education program in the subject area. Strong background in North Carolina Course of Study / Common Core and Essential Standards. Physical Requirements Occasional exertion up to 10 pounds of force. Requires regular speaking, hearing, use of hands, repetitive motions, and occasional standing, walking, and lifting. Standard vision and hearing requirements. Requires vocal communication and written data preparation. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions may occur; work in a moderately noisy environment.
