Description
  • Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations through standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft personalized treatment plans catering to immediate and expansive communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Implement one-on-one speech therapy interventions concentrating on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing safety.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members, to create a harmonious approach to patient care.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and their families to encourage continued progress outside the clinical environment.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, maintaining seamless care transitions throughout the treatment process.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Commit to professional growth through continued education and engagement with fellow practitioners.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, coupled with an understanding of developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with patients, family members, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adept at adjusting therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record-keeping and documentation procedures.
