Position – Furnace Operator Assistant

Job Location – Oshkosh, WI

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) – 1st shift openings available

Starting Pay –$20 to $21 to start

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing

The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll start with the fundamentals and grow from there. Safety is our #1 priority, and we will guide you every step of the way.

• Phase 1: Load and unload cast iron parts into alloy baskets following detailed work instructions.
• Phase 2: Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll be trained to operate the furnaces, perform quality checks, and handle more technical tasks.
• Growth: We emphasize cross-training. There are significant opportunities to move into higher-level roles as you gain experience.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Skills: Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic at a high school level.
• Detail-Oriented: Ability to strictly follow written work instructions.
• Experience: Previous forklift experience is a plus, but not required—we can teach you!

Physical Demands & Environment

Manufacturing is an active job. Candidates should be comfortable with:

• Standing, walking, climbing, and balancing throughout the shift.
• Lifting or moving up to 40 pounds (sometimes repeatedly).
• Working in an environment with heat, fumes, and noise (we provide all necessary safety equipment and air-conditioned break rooms for your comfort).
• Good peripheral vision and depth perception.
