Director of Accounting

Summary A growing multifamily builder and developer is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to oversee accounting operations across a large pipeline of multifamily construction projects. This role is responsible for leading accounting processes, managing financial reporting, and supporting project teams across active ground‑up developments. The ideal candidate has strong construction accounting experience and hands‑on knowledge of Sage accounting systems within a fast‑paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for construction and development projects Oversee monthly financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting Manage project accounting, job cost reporting, and WIP schedules Supervise AP, AR, payroll, and accounting staff Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls Oversee project billing, lien releases, and subcontractor compliance Manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial reporting for leadership Ensure accurate cost coding and project financial tracking Work closely with operations and project teams on budgets and cost visibility Support audits, tax preparation, and year‑end reporting Requirements 10+ years of accounting experience within construction required Strong Sage experience required Experience with multifamily or construction accounting strongly preferred Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and project financials Experience leading accounting teamsKnowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting Strong Excel and accounting software skills CPA preferred but not required Compensation & Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid holidays and PTO Stable pipeline of multifamily projects Long‑term leadership opportunity within a growing organization #J-18808-Ljbffr RIMEPRO INC
