Sr. Construction Superintendent (Night Shift)

What to Expect As a Sr. Construction Superintendent, Night Shift, you will play a critical role in managing and executing construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with your project team, design team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This position will be responsible for overseeing field execution of complex piping systems including chiller plant, ultra-pure water, process gas and chemical distribution systems. What You’ll Do Lead day‑to‑day site operations for mechanical piping scopes including chilled water systems, condensate water, glycol systems, UPW distribution, specialty gases and hazardous chemical piping. Ensure all installations meet project specifications, codes, and semiconductor facility standards (e.g., Cleanroom protocols, vibration control). Evaluate plans, build project schedules, support submittal reviews, write RFIs and coordinate in‑field shutdowns with project stakeholders. Track site execution and inspections to ensure work is performed according to safety guidelines and quality standards. Ensure adherence of contractors’ quality control standards and support internal quality assurance/commissioning for turnover of MEP systems. Coordinate field execution with all contractors, establish dimensional layout/control, verify installation material in the field matches the design documents, and ensure contractor as‑builts are accurately captured. Review project plans, P&IDs, single‑line diagrams, and determine the feasibility of construction as well as potential value‑engineering opportunities. Manage multiple work fronts simultaneously while adhering to Tesla specifications, procedures, and policies. Maintain effective communication with Tesla personnel, including QC, QA, CX and Facilities. Maintain a safe/clean work site, identify and correct safety hazards/violations, and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to quickly resolve field clashes. What You’ll Bring A minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical piping complex construction. Held a supervisory role on commercial/industrial projects (e.g., semiconductor facilities, hospitals, data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities). Strong proficiency with chiller plant piping systems, hand‑on experience with process gas and chemical piping systems. Familiarity with BIM software (Autodesk/Revizto) and construction management tools. Ability to work within a high‑performance, cross‑functional organization with tight timelines and aggressive goals. OSHA 30 certification, relevant mechanical trade licenses, and any trade certification is a plus. Working knowledge of building codes, standards (ASME, NFPA, SEMI where applicable), and environmental regulations with ability to provide constructability feedback to designers.
