Description Qnity Electronics and Industrial has an opening for a Production Engineer in our Semiconductor Technologies unit located in Marlborough, MA. E&I is a leading global supplier of enabling materials for applications such as consumer electronic devices, flat‑panel displays and telecommunications. Semiconductor Technologies serves the integrated circuit fabrication industry with a wide range of technologies used by nearly all of the industry’s top semiconductor manufacturers. Reporting to the manufacturing Production leader, the Production Engineer will work as a technical resource to coach and assist the operations team to optimize and improve Environmental, Health & Safety, production throughput, product quality, and reliability of supply. This position also acts as a technical resource for Operations personnel, applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems and enable safe and efficient production of low‑cost, quality products. The role provides a technical resource to assist work teams on daily operations and process performance to run a low‑cost, on‑specification, reliable, optimized operation, thereby maximizing value to the business in a safe, environmentally friendly manner. Key Responsibilities Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and process control technology. Works with Technical Advising role(s) and plant personnel to optimize operations to meet Business, Site and plant goals (Environmental Health and Safety [EH&S], production, cost, quality, energy, reliability, etc.). Provides leadership, expertise, diagnosis, and drives optimization in plant Raw Material Efficiency, which may include yield, waste generation, or other technology specific measures. Serves as the plant focal point for this key performance area. Participates when required in advanced trouble shooting and Root Cause Investigation’s and coaches others to learn these skills. Ensures findings are documented in Plant Operating Discipline for future usage. Provides leadership, coaching and direction in the day to day decision making for the operating area of responsibility. Networks with other engineers on site and within the business to leverage knowledge on plant operations (i.e. Maximize Production, Improvement, Site Optimization, EH&S, Reliability, Research and Development (R&D), Engineering Sciences, etc.). Ensures Operating Discipline requirements are met. Supports and coaches plant roles in procedure usage, creation, reviews, updates and approvals when assigned. Communicates technical information and issues to plant personnel, Technology or Expertise centers, as required. Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering Required Qualifications Must be willing to be on call. Typical on‑call schedule occurs 24/7 and rotates every 5‑6 weeks. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a process‑oriented manufacturing environment. EH&S Behavioral Based Performance skills. Strong Statistical Process Control skills. Strong technical, teamwork and basic financial knowledge and skills. Location Marlborough, MA. Domestic relocation is available for this role.
