Clerical Assistant
Location: New York, NY 10029
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM OR 12:00 PM–8:00 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted
Pay Rate: $20–$24/hr
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of clerical/front desk experience
- Bilingual Spanish – must speak, read, and write Spanish
- Front desk and data entry experience
- Typing speed of 50 KPM
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Medical office experience preferred
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
Responsibilities :
- Handle front desk operations, patient registration, scheduling, check-in/check-out, and co-pay collection
- Greet and assist patients
- Perform data entry, filing, typing, indexing, and general clerical duties
- Schedule appointments and provide appointment reminders
- Assist patients with MyChart and biometric enrollment
- Assist with virtual-visit kiosks
- Communicate with patients, nurses, physicians, and other staff
- Prepare correspondence and assist with reports and data collection
- Maintain a professional and HIPAA-compliant environment
- Monitor office equipment and supplies
- Follow healthcare compliance standards
- Assist during IT/power outages and emergency procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
