HR Coordinator- Benefits & Leaves

Overview The Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the HR department by managing employee-related benefits, leave of absences, and workers’ compensation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture. Duties Administer company leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and short‑term disability; ensure compliance with legal requirements. Perform ADA tasks including the interactive process and determining reasonable accommodations. Manage employee enrollment and eligibility for insurance, retirement, wellness, COBRA and other employee benefit packages. Monitor, update, and maintain compliance with ACA, HIPAA, and other labor laws. Act as the primary contact for employee questions regarding benefits, claims, and leave policies. File and manage workers’ compensation claims. Reconcile insurance bills, audit payroll data for accuracy, and liaise with insurance brokers. Manage and audit attendance program to ensure compliance, accuracy, and necessary disciplinary action. Provide administrator support for workplace investigations. Provide support for HR projects and initiatives. Skills Previous HR experience, particularly in benefits administration and leave management required. Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, state-regulated paid sick and leave requirements, and benefits-related regulations. High competence with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite. Rippling knowledge is preferred. Bi‑lingual in Spanish strongly preferred. High attention to detail, excellent communication, organizational, and empathy skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining deadlines.
