Position Overview

ttg Talent Solutions is seeking accounting professionals with experience in the commercial construction or construction services industry for full-time opportunities in Miami, FL.

We are currently considering candidates for construction accounting roles ranging from Staff Accountant to Project Accountant , depending on experience. These roles support accounting and financial operations for construction and service projects, including billing, job costing, reconciliations, project accounting, reporting, and collaboration with project managers and operations teams.

The ideal candidates will have hands-on accounting experience in a construction-related environment and understand the importance of accurate billing, cost tracking, documentation, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage job cost accounting for assigned construction projects.
• Review vendor invoices and subcontractor pay applications for accuracy and compliance.
• Support cost-to-complete forecasting in partnership with Project Managers.
• Identify project variances, financial risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit monthly progress billings to General Contractors.
• Manage Schedule of Values, retainage balances, and billing reconciliations.
• Track subcontractor compliance, including insurance, lien waivers, releases of lien, and required documentation.
• Maintain accurate cost coding and commitment entries in the accounting system.
• Monitor Accounts Payable workflows for assigned projects.
• Prepare monthly project financial review packages for leadership.
• Support year-end audit activities and respond to auditor inquiries as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Accountants, Accounts Payable, Operations, and Project Management teams.
• Recommend improvements to accounting workflows, reporting templates, and internal controls.

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience within construction, contracting companies, engineering, or another project-based industry.
• Experience with job costing, billing, reconciliations, AR/AP, month-end close, or project accounting.
• Knowledge of progress billing, AIA billing, WIP reporting, cost-to-complete, lien waivers, or subcontractor compliance is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with project managers, operations teams, vendors, subcontractors, or internal accounting teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
