Senior Accountant

Title: Senior Accountant Location: Summerville, SC About the Opportunity: We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing manufacturing organization in Summerville, SC. This individual will take ownership of the general ledger function and play a key role in supporting financial reporting, month-end close, audits, and process improvements. Working directly with the VP of Finance, this position offers the opportunity to help build scalable accounting processes and grow into a leadership role as the company continues to expand. What You’ll Do: Own the full-cycle general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements. Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Partner with FP&A, Tax, and Operations to support financial reporting and accounting activities. Maintain general ledger accuracy, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed. Prepare monthly financial statements, account analyses, and supporting schedules. Serve as a primary point of contact for external audits, preparing requested documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Assist with tax, compliance, and other financial reporting requirements. Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes. Support accounting automation and enhancements to ERP, accounts payable, and expense management systems. Assist with special projects and financial analyses as the company continues to grow. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required. 5+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required. Strong general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience working with ERP and accounting systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of accounting processes. Strong organizational and communication skills. Cost accounting experience preferred. CPA preferred but not required. Comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
