Senior Legal Counsel | Commercial Real Estate & Debt Financing Associate Practice Area: Commercial Real Estate Transactions, Secured Lending & Real Property Development Location: Northern New Jersey (Roseland Area / Metropolitan NYC Area) Salary: $170,000 to $225,000 Base Salary (Plus discretionary performance bonus, origination credits, and full benefits) Schedule: Full-time, Direct-Hire, Minimum 1,850 annual billable target The Firm: Our client is an established New Jersey legal powerhouse with almost a century of reputable service, consistently ranked among the top mid-sized law firms in the area. Duties The incoming Senior Real Estate Associate will play a key role in advising on commercial real estate transactions, debt agreements, and project developments, assisting institutional lenders, commercial borrowers, equity investors, and property owners. Primary responsibilities include: Structuring, creating, and negotiating complex real estate conveyances, commercial leases, and joint venture agreements. Representing financial institutions and corporate borrowers in various financing matters. Leading title reviews, land surveys, environmental assessments, and due diligence processes. Managing commercial real estate closings from initial term sheet creation to post-closing activities. Advising corporate clients on zoning compliance, land entitlement, permitting, and regulatory issues. Collaborating with different practice groups on structured commercial transactions. Qualifications Evaluations will focus on transactional experience and professional qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited school. Active Bar License in New Jersey in good standing. Five (5) or more years of experience in managing commercial real estate and lending matters. Substantial experience advising institutional lenders, developers, and investor groups. Strong drafting, negotiating, and contract analysis skills. Skills The following qualifications are highly beneficial: Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission). Experience with land use, zoning entitlements, and presenting before planning boards. Demonstrated leadership in portfolio acquisitions and refinancings.
