About the Position

Job Title

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – General Surgery

Key Responsibilities

• Function primarily in a scrubbing capacity as a member of the surgical team, with potential to assist in circulating duties within the OR suite
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout all surgical procedures while providing a quiet, controlled OR environment
• Participate in OR suite preparation and assist with the setup and breakdown of the sterile field
• Utilize and maintain specialized equipment and supplies for a broad range of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, neurological, and endoscopic cases
• Support surgical procedures spanning endocrine, breast, oncologic, gastrointestinal, colorectal, hepatobiliary, total joints, and laparoscopic specialties
• Take call as required; must be available to work designated holiday blocks including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year periods if scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current CST experience
• NBSTSA certification (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) — Required
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification — Required
• New Hampshire Medical Technician Registration — Required (may pend upon offer)
• High proficiency in Orthopedics, Total Joints, and Neurosurgery — Required
• Scrubbing experience across General, Ortho, Neuro, and Endo specialties — Required
• Must be willing and able to take call; candidates who will not accept call will not be considered
• Must have own reliable vehicle for this assignment
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across a broad spectrum of surgical specialties including hepatobiliary, colorectal, and oncologic procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt quickly and effectively in high-pressure environments
• Current skills checklist for Certified Surgical Tech (within the past year)
• Two supervisory-signed references from within the past two years of employment
