Location: Northlake, Texas

Work Setting: Fabrication Shop

Pay Rate: $41/hour + $140/day per diem

Schedule: 7 days per week

Contract Duration: 3-6 months, with potential for full-time hire

Role Overview

The Weld Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all fabricated welds meet applicable specifications, codes, quality standards, and safety requirements.

This role is essential to maintaining compliance, accuracy, and production integrity throughout the fabrication process. The successful candidate will work closely with fabrication and QA/QC teams to identify quality issues, document inspection results, and help ensure work is completed to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Inspect welds for conformance to specifications, applicable codes, drawings, and fabrication requirements.
• Verify joint preparation, welding procedures, and filler materials.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate gauges and instruments.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Communicate inspection findings and recommend corrective actions to fabrication and QA/QC teams.
• Review welding documentation, procedures, and welder qualifications as required.
• Support quality-control and continuous-improvement initiatives within the fabrication shop.
• Maintain a strong commitment to shop safety and quality standards throughout all inspection activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3+ years of weld inspection experience in a fabrication or industrial setting.
• AWS CWI certification preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding standards.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Experience working with QA/QC procedures and inspection records.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and professional workmanship.
