Duties

Help

• You will coordinate budget and financial support activities by gathering, analyzing, and organizing funding information, preparing recommendations, and working with staff to ensure resources are managed accurately and effectively.
• You will independently plan and complete assigned projects that improve operational efficiency, evaluate program performance, develop practical solutions, and provide timely recommendations that support organizational goals and priorities.
• You will prepare accurate budget reports, financial analyses, presentations, and customized reports that monitor spending, forecast resource needs, track expenditures, and provide leaders with reliable information for decision making.
• You will maintain financial records, process travel, training, purchasing, and budget transactions, verify supporting documentation, and ensure all actions comply with established policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• You will communicate with staff, managers, and external vendors to coordinate payments, obtain required information, resolve financial issues, and provide responsive customer service while supporting mission and organizational objectives.
• You will collect and analyze data to identify trends, develop reports and presentations, improve reporting processes, monitor financial activities, and provide clear information that supports informed decisions and successful program execution.

• Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1. Requires knowledge of training administration, management analysis, property management, and other administrative functions.

2. Requires judgment, analysis, discretion, and knowledge of the organizational objectives and the budget and financial conepts, policies and processes.

3. Ability to collect, analyze, and report data in order to identify trends, problems, and provide various training reports is required.
