Job Title: Safety Coordinator Reports To: COO Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing and managing a Safety Committee, implementing and promoting safety policies, monitoring safety performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role will also include organizing and maintaining safety materials, managing OSHA 300A forms, encouraging close call reporting, ensuring availability and timely inspection/replacement of personal protective equipment, and updating and managing all safety SOPs. The ideal candidate will be committed to building a safety‑first culture and actively engaging employees in safety decision‑making. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage a Safety Committee Establish a committee with representatives from various regions and levels. Lead regular meetings to discuss concerns, review incident reports, and propose solutions. Facilitate employee participation and ensure their voices are heard in policy development. Organize safety‑focused initiatives and promote awareness through the committee. Promote a safety‑first culture Foster a culture where safety is the top priority, encouraging vigilance. Ensure the committee plays an active role in creating and maintaining this culture. Develop and enforce safety policies Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies and SOPs. Review, update, and manage all SOPs to reflect current regulations and best practices. Ensure employees are educated on SOPs and receive regular training. Safety training and awareness Provide ongoing safety training to all employees. Incorporate feedback from the committee and employees into training materials. Encourage and manage close call reporting Promote reporting of close calls and other safety concerns. Address reports promptly and implement corrective actions. Analyze trends and share findings with the committee. PPE management and inspections Ensure PPE is available, inspected, and replaced in a timely manner. Track condition and usage of PPE, ensuring replacement or repair when necessary. OSHA 300A forms management Accurately document, record, and summarize work‑related injuries and illnesses. Submit OSHA 300A forms electronically as required. Safety audits and inspections Conduct regular audits, site inspections, and risk assessments. Share findings and implement improvements based on committee feedback. Investigate and report incidents Lead investigations into accidents and incidents to identify root causes. Develop and implement corrective actions with committee involvement. Compliance with safety regulations Ensure compliance with OSHA and other local, state, and federal safety laws. Stay current on legislation and industry trends. Emergency preparedness Assist in developing emergency response plans and conduct safety drills with committee involvement. Ensure workplace readiness for potential emergencies by organizing drills and updating plans. Physical Requirements Conduct safety inspections and audits, may involve walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
