On-Call Stormwater Specialist | CA

Job Summary On-Call Stormwater Specialist responsible for developing and inspecting stormwater and erosion & sediment control plans, focusing on stormwater permitting and inspection across California. Essential Job Functions Develop Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Water Pollution Control Plans (WPCP). Create SWPPP and WPCP maps using ArcGIS. Conduct routine inspections of active construction sites for plan compliance. Coordinate with clients and relevant agencies to obtain stormwater permits. Ensure compliance with stormwater permits. Monitor rainfall and conduct rain event inspections as needed. Provide training to construction crews on Best Management Practices (BMP). Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings. Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group’s culture of safety and employee ownership. Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; keep knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures. Other Duties Additional duties may be assigned and can change at any time, including outside travel and ongoing training to maintain certifications. Job Requirements Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) / Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) Certification. Minimum one year of work experience in stormwater management. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans. Experience working with geospatial mapping tools and software. Comfortable working around active construction machinery. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle in an off‑road environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong reading, writing, and speaking English skills sufficient to perform job duties and interact with employees and vendors. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years experience in stormwater management. Proficient in creating maps using ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise. Experience in the utility industry. EPA Construction General Permit Inspector training. Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL). Experience in a safety coordination role. OSHA training.
