Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift hospital position requiring Level 3 NICU skills and acute care experience across ICU, Med Surg, and ER.

Details

• respiratory care unit spanning ICU, Med Surg, ER, and NICU settings
• 160-bed unit staffed by approximately 32 respiratory therapists
• Night shift staffing minimum of 4-4.5 RTs, day shift minimum of 5-6
• Patient assignments managed through an RVU system
• Equipment includes PB and Drager V500 ventilators, Aerogen nebulizers, V60 BiPAP, HHFNC, Hamilton C-transport ventilators, oscillators, jet ventilators, nitric oxide therapy, and bubble CPAP
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36-hour work week
• Weekend rotation required every other Saturday and Sunday
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in respiratory therapy specialty
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Level 3 NICU skills required
• Acute care experience in Med Surg, ER, and ICU required
• Experience managing BiPAP, ventilators, and heated high flow units required
• Experience assisting with intubations and bedside bronchoscopies required
• Proficient EMR charting skills required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• License required if applicable

• Assist with intubations and bedside bronchoscopies
• Manage varying patient loads and higher acuity cases with strong time management skills
• Work independently and demonstrate self-motivation
• Willingness to work in a Level 3 NICU setting required
