Assistant Director of Educational Services

Job Overview – Assistant Director of Educational Services Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000/year Location: New York, NY Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office) TAG MedStaffing is hiring an Assistant Director of Educational Services in New York, NY for our client, supporting special education program operations, staff leadership, and educational service delivery within a school-based environment. This role will assist with overseeing educational, clinical, operational, and administrative functions while partnering closely with families, school districts, and interdisciplinary teams to support high-quality programming and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and experienced within special education and school administration environments. Responsibilities as the Assistant Director of Educational Services: Program Support: Assist with daily educational program operations across educational, clinical, administrative, and support service functions. Staff Leadership: Support recruitment, training, supervision, and development of educational and clinical staff. Program Development: Assist with curriculum oversight, policy implementation, program planning, and quality assurance initiatives. Compliance & Reporting: Prepare reports and support compliance with educational regulations, agency policies, and operational standards. Family & Community Coordination: Serve as a liaison with parents, school districts, community organizations, and external partners. Operational Coordination: Support budgeting, student placement decisions, program expansion initiatives, and departmental projects. Qualifications for the Assistant Director of Educational Services: Education: Master’s degree in Special Education is required. Certifications: New York State certification in Special Education and School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) certification are required. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Special Education teaching experience and 3 years of school administration experience is required. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of special education programming, school operations, educational compliance, and student support services is required. Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email systems, and educational documentation systems is preferred. Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational skills, communication abilities, professionalism, and leadership skills are required.
