Job Description Job Description Seeking: Packaging Specialist – 1st Shift Location: Houston, TX 77028 Pay: $20.00 per hour | Weekly Pay Schedule: Monday–Friday | 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire Build Your Career with a Leader in Manufacturing Openwork is hiring an experienced Packaging Specialist for a leading metals manufacturing facility in Northeast Houston. If you have experience in packaging, material handling, and forklift operation and are looking for a long-term opportunity with room to grow, this could be the right fit for you. What You'll Do: Package finished products according to customer and shipping specifications. Verify dimensions, counts, labels, and product quality before shipment. Read and follow work orders, packing instructions, and shipping documents. Build pallets, crate, band, shrink-wrap, and prepare products for shipment. Operate a forklift to move and stage materials. Inspect products for defects and report any quality concerns. Clean products and maintain an organized work area. Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures. What We're Looking For: 2+ years of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or material handling experience required. Forklift experience required (forklift assessment conducted during the interview). Ability to accurately read a tape measure. Basic math skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and remain active throughout a 10-hour shift. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Overhead crane experience is a plus. Reliable attendance and strong commitment to workplace safety. Safety & Work Environment: Work with lead-based materials in a regulated manufacturing environment. Required use of PPE, including a half-mask respirator. Must be clean-shaven each workday for proper respirator fit. Daily showering after each shift and periodic blood testing are required.
