Position Overview

New Balance Movement Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our team full-time at our Rehabilitation Center located in The Villages, Florida. Work Environment

You will be executing your responsibilities onsite, ensuring direct interaction with patients and the ability to monitor their progress in real-time. The full-time schedule runs from Monday to Friday, allowing for a healthy work-life balance while accommodating our patients' therapy needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical abilities and limitations through diagnostic testing.
• Create and implement customized physical therapy treatment plans that align with each patient's specific orthopedic condition and rehabilitation goals.
• Administer manual and therapeutic exercises, guiding patients through non-manual exercises, and motivating them to perform functional activities independently.
• Provide hands-on treatment modalities such as traction, massage, and other physical agents as prescribed in the treatment plan.
• Collaborate with physical therapy assistants to ensure consistency and effectiveness in the implementation of physical therapy protocols.
• Regularly assess and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, providing recommendations to physicians as necessary.
• Monitor patient progress, documenting observations and responses to therapy, and communicating significant changes to the interdisciplinary team during case conferences.
• Assist in developing, reviewing, and continually updating the plan of care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Provide education to patients and their families on rehabilitation exercises and the use of therapeutic devices.
• Participate actively in team meetings, contributing insights on treatment plans and patient progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals experiencing orthopedic issues, including post-surgical rehabilitation cases, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will be crucial in leading patients toward their recovery goals, maximizing their physical potential, and enhancing their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an orthopedic setting.
• Current state licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and care team members.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a rehabilitation setting, particularly focused on orthopedic conditions, will enhance your ability to provide effective care. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and therapy management software is a plus, as it allows for streamlined communication and documentation of patient progress.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
