Paralegal

Our client, a well-established organization, is seeking a Paralegal to join their legal team immediately!

• Position: Paralegal
• Office Location: White Plains, NY
• Salary: $60,000 annually
• Temp to Perm

Responsibilities:

• Review daily statements of accounts to identify delinquent firms and prepare matters for arbitration.
• Prepare, review, and proofread pre-arbitration and post-arbitration legal documents.
• Draft legal correspondence and assist with the preparation of arbitration and litigation documents.
• Conduct legal and non-legal research to support ongoing cases.
• Analyze liability of delinquent firms and gather supporting documentation.
• Prepare complaints involving personal actions for House Counsel review and assist with subsequent litigation.
• Prepare and file bankruptcy claims and monitor the status of distributions.
• Attend arbitration hearings and assist with case preparation.
• Monitor the status of cases assigned to outside counsel and follow up on litigation progress.
• Draft and respond to memoranda and legal correspondence.
• Maintain and monitor court calendars and legal deadlines.
• Review and verify liability calculations associated with arbitration awards.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.
• Paralegal certificate is a plus.
• 2+ years of paralegal or legal support experience, preferably in litigation, arbitration, collections, bankruptcy, or civil litigation.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Experience preparing legal documents and managing case files.
• Familiarity with court procedures, legal terminology, and filing requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
