Visit for more information.Position Summary: The Senior Preconstruction Manager will work with the Project Executives and Estimators to develop detailed preconstruction plans to ensure proper execution of upcoming work. The Senior Preconstruction Manager will develop procedural guidelines for operation on Callahan job sites and will aid in the implementation of and training on these procedures. As a resource to the field staff, the Senior Preconstruction Manager will visit job sites and act as a mentor to Assistant Superintendents and Area Superintendents.Responsibilities:Manages Preconstruction Coordinator, Assistant Estimator, Preconstruction Engineer, Estimator, and Senior Estimator rolesActively monitors all team projects and resourcesEstablishes and conducts checks of in process estimationsIdentifies key scopes and qualifications for Estimator to includeResponsible for building specific qualifications and coordinating with Project Executives and Field OperationsCommunicating and coordinating with internal departments and external customersManages subcontractor relationships and monitors market conditionsCoordination with Callahan Academy – internal training and learning programResponsible for the entire estimate and ensuring subcontractors are adequately scopedSchematic and Conceptual EstimatesResponsible for building specific qualifications and coordinates with Project Executives and Site Divisions 1 & 2Responsible for reconciliation sheetsCoordinates with other departments to provide a complete package to the OwnerResponsible for communication to clientAttends and participates in preconstruction meetings and monitors meeting minutes to ensure accuracyOwns all tasks "between the bids," such as value management, systems studies (gas vs electric, PHIUS, etc.), and progress plan reviewIdentifies comparable estimates to analyze costs/metrics and determine if something is misaligned and understands reasoning behind misalignmentPerforms buyout for projects in conjunction with the Project ManagerCompetencies:Capable of managing multiple projects at a timeStrong communication skills with both internal stakeholders and external stakeholdersExcellent presentation and command skillsAbility to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, submittalsStrong organizational skillsStrong time management and multi-tasking skillsExceptional interpersonal communication, presentation, and documentation skillsMust be able to comprehend and communicate information that is technical in natureSubcontractor and vendor management experienceEffective analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience and Education Required:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred10 to 15 years of Construction Management experienceBluebeam, Microsoft Excel, On Screen TakeoffAll qualified applicants will be afforded equal opportunity.
