Bankruptcy Legal Assistant

Currently, we have an exciting Legal Assistant - Bankruptcy who enjoys working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, with an energized team with a well-established national real estate services firm specializing in default servicing, including foreclosures, bankruptcies, evictions, and title solutions. The Legal Assistant - Bankruptcy is responsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your specific duties will include:

• Legal Documentation: Prepare pleadings, letters, and court documents (e.g., Motions for Relief, Notices of Appearance, Objections to Confirmation) under attorney supervision.
• Court Filings & ECF: Review, distribute, and manage Electronic Case Filings (ECFs), as well as handle e-filing and submission of court pleadings.
• Docket & Calendar Management: Continuously review PACER dockets and maintain accuracy in the attorney's calendar.
• Client Communication: Liaise professionally with clients regarding case updates and routine inquiries.

Required qualifications for the position include:

• Basic understanding of various mortgage and loan documents.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and strong data entry/typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; professional telephone demeanor is essential.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred qualifications for the position include:

• Basic understanding of the bankruptcy process.
• Experience with client software databases such as Black Knight , Tempo , or CounselLink .
• Bachelor's degree.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.

Pay Rate Range : $26.00 - $34.00 per hour

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
