About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy General Counsel, Head of Americas Legal to join their dynamic and fast-paced legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and advancing a best-in-class regulatory strategy in the US and across the Americas, with a focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with regulators. This role involves engaging directly with regulators, identifying growth opportunities, and leading a team of attorneys to ensure legal efforts are coordinated and successful. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services laws and regulations, with a preference for experience in the crypto industry, and must be adept at managing a wide range of legal requests while advising on legal risk to support the strategic goals of the company's regional business leaders. Applicants for the Deputy General Counsel position at the company should possess strong communication and leadership skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A membership with a US state bar or equivalent is required, along with at least 12 years of regulatory experience in a highly-regulated environment. The role demands a self-starter with a proactive and precise approach, experience in making strategic recommendations, and the ability to navigate legal ambiguity. Supervisory experience and a background in advising on cross-jurisdictional legal and regulatory matters are also essential. The company values candidates who are enthusiastic about blockchain technology and have experience in the crypto context, and expertise in US securities laws and regulations is a plus.
