Financial Analyst

Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Financial Analyst for a company in Athens, Ohio to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into numbers, identifying trends, and translating financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analyses and performance summaries
• Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning
• Analyze financial data, trends, and key performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and operational insights
• Compare actual results to plans and forecasts, highlighting drivers of change and recommending corrective actions
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and long-range financial plans
• Create projections and dashboards that support leadership decision-making
• Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure accuracy across reports and data sources
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and support cross-departmental financial needs
• Support ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives

This is a direct-hire, full-time position, hiring immediately. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Pay is commensurate with experience, in the range of $45K to $55K annually. This company offers a full benefits package.
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics , or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, or forecasting
• Proven experience in a Financial Analyst or similar analytical role
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
• Above-average Microsoft Excel skills (Lookups, IF/THEN logic, PivotTables, linking, Goal Seek, etc.)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial planning software, ERP systems, or BI tools
• Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency
