Purchasing Specialist

As a Purchasing Agent at Spices USA Inc, you will play a critical role in managing the procurement of high-quality spices and related products to support our production and sales operations. Your primary objective will be to source, negotiate, and purchase goods at the best possible prices while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining strong supplier relationships. You will collaborate closely with inventory management, quality assurance, and finance teams to align purchasing activities with company goals and budget constraints. This role requires a strategic approach to vendor selection and contract management to optimize cost efficiency and product availability. Ultimately, your efforts will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our supply chain and the overall success of Spices USA Inc. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles. Strong understanding of purchasing processes and vendor management. Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the food or spice industry is highly desirable. Familiarity with SAP or ERP software. Ability to analyze market trends and apply data-driven decision-making. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Responsibilities Place and finalize purchase orders, including offers based on demand and stock position. Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms and ensure compliance. Examine, test, and manage contracts; perform risk management for supply agreements. Collaborate with key stakeholders to clarify specifications and expectations. Track and report procurement metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness. Control spending and foster a culture of long-term savings. Inventory & Demand Planning Review and implement replenishment processes. Manage inventory and forecast demand for assigned product categories. Use historical data, sales/marketing input, and market trends to improve forecasting. Analyze forecasting errors and implement corrective strategies. Cost & Market Analysis Develop cost comparisons and reports to analyze expenditures and inventory. Capture and monitor business expenditures; support audits as needed. Communicate with vendors regarding purchase orders, capacity constraints, and shipment schedules. Plan production volumes to maximize container space. Assist with transportation planning to ensure timely deliveries.
