Senior Program Analyst

Role Description

NEHA is currently seeking a Senior Program Analyst within the Program and Partnership Development (PPD) Department. PPD secures funding and creates and disseminates educational resources to environmental health professionals. The department implements the National Environmental Health Internship Program; the Environmental Health Leadership Academy; creates policy statements; interfaces with member program committees; and creates, implements, and evaluates programs.

The Sr. Program Analyst in Environmental Health Emergency Preparedness is a thought leader and highly organized professional with significant experience in environmental public health and emergency preparedness. The position will support the integration of multiple lanes of public health programmatic efforts into a single, harmonized association-wide effort that meets the needs of our funders and members. The incumbent will become a part of our senior management team and will help inform and shape the future of NEHA as we work together to identify needs and opportunities to further engage and support the environmental public health workforce, locally, nationally, and globally. This candidate must have the demonstrated ability to work effectively within, uphold, and strengthen the organization’s established culture and values.

Occasional travel will be required for this exciting position; approximately 4-8 trips per year. This includes opportunities to attend and present on environmental topics at conferences, meet with our funders to talk about projects and strategies, and provide training to support state, tribal, local, and territorial jurisdictions. A passport may also be required. Intermittent work on nights and weekends may also be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in environmental health, public health, project management, or related field.
• Minimum of five to seven years’ experience in environmental public health with strong emergency preparedness response experience.
• Project management experience.
• Experience prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in fast paced environment.
