IT Infrastructure Engineer V, Network

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer V at Kaiser Permanente, you will design, implement, and optimize secure, highly available network and infrastructure solutions supporting a large-scale healthcare environment. You will architect, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise networks, cloud and on-prem systems, and automation frameworks to ensure performance, resilience, and compliance. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you'll lead complex projects, drive infrastructure modernization, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices in monitoring, security, and documentation to deliver reliable services for internal users and patients.

Responsibilities

Design and architect secure, scalable network and infrastructure solutions for enterprise healthcare environments.
Implement, configure, and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and load-balancing services.
Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives across on-prem and cloud environments.
Develop automation for provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery capabilities for critical systems.
Collaborate with security, application, and operations teams to meet compliance and performance requirements.
Monitor infrastructure health, analyze trends, and proactively resolve issues.
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, standards, and runbooks.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for critical network and infrastructure events.
