IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Duties

Help

Use data collected from a variety of cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to analyze events that occur within their environments for the purposes of mitigating threats.

Perform assessments of systems and networks identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy and conduct all types of testing and provide technical support for large system tests.

Explore next generation security technology as part of an evolving technical design of the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) and its security components.

Provide educated recommendations on security technologies, service improvements, budgetary estimations, and similar activities.

Communicate orally and in writing to provide specific information concerning systems issues with vendors, customers, and management.
