Sterile Processing Technician

This is a 13-week contract position.

Mid 5x8-Hour Shift from 15:00 to 23:00, Monday to Friday with rotating weekends.

The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for working with new hires and precepting them as needed in an acute care setting. The role requires seasoned travelers with specific experience in various areas of sterilization and equipment reprocessing.

Responsibilities:

• Handle and reprocess all types of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and AAMI guidelines.
• Perform cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of sterile instruments.
• Work independently in an Ambulatory Surgery Center setting.
• Maintain equipment and perform troubleshooting as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Required certifications: BLS, CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA, and CFER.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Must have prior experience floating within a hospital or to affiliate hospitals.
• Must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
