Location Description

The Eugene, Oregon plant produces both organic and non‑organic granola, with annual production of up to 52 million pounds. The site supports a team of more than 200 manufacturing and support employees and plays an important role in supplying private label granola products across the U.S.

Responsibilities

At Post Consumer Brands, quality isn't just a department, it's a commitment to the products families trust every day. As our Quality Supervisor, you'll play a critical role in ensuring food safety, product quality, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.

This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role where you'll partner closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, Product Development, and plant leadership to drive excellence. You'll help maintain the highest food safety and quality standards while developing team members, improving processes, and supporting a culture where safety, quality, and continuous improvement come first.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support quality and food safety programs to ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and SQF requirements.

  • Serve as the primary backup to the Plant Quality & Food Safety Manager and provide leadership support across plant quality initiatives.

  • Manage and develop Quality Technicians, helping build technical capabilities and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee prerequisite quality programs, including:

  • Environmental monitoring and follow-up investigations

  • Calibration programs

  • Water and air quality programs

  • Hold logs and ERP dispositions

  • Internal audit programs

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality and food safety training programs, including new hire onboarding and plant-wide training initiatives.

  • Support sales and customer-related quality requests through activities such as certificates of analysis (COAs), product evaluations, sample reviews, and retrieval requests.

  • Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve processes.

  • Analyze and communicate technical, scientific, quality, and regulatory information to diverse audiences throughout the organization.

  • Support plant leadership initiatives that strengthen safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, or a related scientific field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of food industry experience.

  • Prior experience as a Quality Supervisor, QA Scientist, or similar quality leadership role preferred.

Preferred Certifications

  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual)

  • HACCP Certification

  • Food Defense Training

  • SQF Certification

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with statistical analysis, SPC, and data-driven decision making.

  • Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to train and influence others.

  • Experience facilitating audits, meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and chemicals.

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
