Job Requirements – Qualifications & Expectations Ideal Candidate Minimum of two years of proven experience teaching studio and lecture courses with a high rate of student retention and participation. Terminal degree in Architecture (M.Arch.) or Interior Design, or ABD/advanced degree (Ph.D., D.Arch.) in a cognate discipline such as urban design. Registered Architect status preferable; willingness to pursue registration is a plus. Comfortable working directly with students in classroom and studio settings; able to develop dynamic projects that challenge critical thinking and meet NAAB and CIDA performance criteria. Committed to the Alfred State College community and able to actively advise, mentor, recruit, and participate in student groups such as the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students Chapter. Proficient in architectural technology (hardware and software) including Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, Enscape, and willing to stay current on advancements. Team‑spirit, flexible, and willing to productively engage in departmental culture and the Southern Tier region, demonstrating self‑determination and leadership when appropriate.
