Alfred State College Title Assistant Professor in Human Services – Alfred State College Location Alfred, NY Overview The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Alfred State invites applicants to apply for a full-time, tenure‑track position teaching courses in human services and psychology. The department seeks a qualified candidate who will support programs in human services and applied psychology. This on‑campus position requires teaching 15 contact hours per semester, meeting with students through regularly scheduled office hours, advising students on academic issues, and participating in curriculum, departmental, college, and professional community activities. Superior written and oral communication skills are preferred as well as a commitment to mentoring student research. Responsibilities Teach 15 contact hours per semester, including courses such as Community Psychology and Human Relations. Hold regularly scheduled office hours and advise students. Participate in curriculum development, departmental activities, and professional community initiatives. Commit to mentoring student research. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a closely related field. Teaching experience in high school, college, adult education, training, or instructional roles. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or equivalent). Professional experience in community relations, human services, nonprofit, public health, health administration, or social services management. Salary and Benefits The salary for this position starts at $54,000 and is commensurate with education and experience.
