NP, Nurse Practitioner/PA, Physician Assistant - Inpatient Gastroenterology/GI

Job Summary We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Gastroenterology team in Longview, TX . This role focuses on supporting gastroenterology physicians through inpatient rounding, consult management, and coordination of care for hospitalized GI patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in gastroenterology, internal medicine, or another inpatient-focused specialty and thrive in a collaborative hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Perform inpatient rounding and manage gastroenterology consults Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic GI conditions Assist with admissions, discharges, and ongoing inpatient management Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary services Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR Serve as an extension of the GI physician team to ensure continuity and efficiency of patient care Qualifications Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA) Previous inpatient, gastroenterology, hospital medicine, or internal medicine experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a hospital setting Excellent communication and teamwork skills Schedule & Compensation Full-time inpatient schedule Competitive compensation based on experience Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, malpractice coverage, PTO, CME allowance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match #J-18808-Ljbffr CHRISTUS Health
