Pay $25.42 - $42.43/ hour, depending on experience and qualifications Plus $1.00 / hour. shift premium for 2nd shift hours Schedule 2nd Shift Week 1: Sunday - Wednesday, 1:45 p.m. - 12:15 a.m. Week 2: Monday - Thursday, 1:45 p.m. - 12:15 a.m. (other days and hours as needed) On-site Location 10260 McKee Road, Collegedale TN 37315 Job Summary McKee Foods is seeking a Class 8 Truck Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team. This position will be conducting repairs and maintenance on gas and/or diesel engines and trailers. The ideal candidate has the potential to work, learn and grow with us throughout his/her career. Technician will repair and maintain: heavy duty trucks trailers yard tractors cars / pickups / vans truck garage and equipment Required Qualifications 6-12 months experience in a garage environment or vocational school Capable of reading schematics, wiring diagrams, blue prints, etc. Good perception, judgment and decision making skills Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment Ability to document and process informationMust have tools to support general Class 8 truck and trailer repairs Capable of performing tire and wheel break-down, build up, balancing and alignment Knowledgeable in performing diagnostic checks on electrical systems Able to diagnose fuel and lubrication system problems and make repairs Capable of performing repairs and adjustments on tractor, trailer ABS and air brake systems, differentials, clutches, drive line, suspensions, transmissions and steering Experience in performing trailer repairs Ability to perform heavy lifting 50+ pounds on a regular basis Must have or be able to obtain McKee Foods LTO (Lift Truck Operator) license within 90 days on the job (includes a good driving record and meeting vision requirements to drive a lift truck at McKee Foods) Must have or be able to obtain ASE Medium/Heavy Duty certifications based on the pay level at the time of hire as prescribed in the technician's syllabus. The required certification must be obtained within one year of the hire date.
