We value interns who are:Curious about how legal issues impact business operationsEager to learn from experienced attorneys and explore new areas of lawOpen to feedback and willing to ask questions to deepen understandingProactive in seeking out opportunities to contribute and grow professionallyIn this role, you will:Work on meaningful legal assignments under the guidance of experienced in-house counselGain exposure to legal issues affecting a corporate legal environment, including insurance regulatory frameworks, contracts, and corporate governanceObserve and participate in meetings with attorneys and cross-functional teamsBe flexible and open to working on different tasks, sharing ideas, and helping the team wherever neededDemonstrate curiosity, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to apply foundational legal knowledge to real-world legal tasksAssist with legal research and writing projects on a variety of legal topicsWhat you need to apply:Enrolled in an accredited law programHave finished at least 1+ year(s) of full-time law school or equivalentCumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferredStrong legal research, writing, and analytical skillsInterest in insurance law, regulatory compliance, contract law, or corporate legal practiceAbility to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretionExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindsetAbility to commit to a full time 10-week internship programAbility to commit to 2-3 days per week in-office at our Worcester, MA locationAbility to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the futureEEO statement:The Hanover values diversity in the workplace and among our customers.
