The J61 unit is a 24‑bed cardiovascular telemetry unit that specializes in post‑open heart, surgical, and ventricular assist device patients. This unit is fast‑paced and provides excellent opportunities in nursing growth and development with the ability to care for patients undergoing innovative procedures. As a New Grad RN Resident on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send‑off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well‑Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting, and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works rotating shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. Responsibilities Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs. Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach. Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability). Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk. Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently. Document in patients’ medical records. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $35.50 Maximum hourly: $55.60 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
