We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day payment operations for a growing team in Tamarac, Florida. This Contract to Hire position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable handling high-volume invoice activity with accuracy and professionalism. The person in this role will help maintain smooth vendor payments, strengthen financial recordkeeping, and contribute to efficient accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before entering them into the payment system.

• Assign the correct accounting codes to invoices and ensure charges are recorded in the appropriate categories.

• Process invoices in a timely manner while maintaining organized documentation and audit-ready records.

• Prepare and assist with scheduled check runs to support prompt and accurate vendor payments.

• Reconcile purchase orders, receipts, and invoices through three-way matching to confirm payment eligibility.

• Communicate with vendors to resolve billing questions, payment discrepancies, and account-related concerns.

• Monitor outstanding items and follow up internally to keep approvals and payments moving efficiently.

• Support ongoing improvements to accounts payable workflows and help maintain consistency in financial procedures.

• Previous experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Hands-on ability to code invoices accurately and process payments in a high-volume environment.
• Working knowledge of check runs, invoice entry, and accounts payable controls.
• Experience performing three-way matching across invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
• Clear communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to stay organized, manage deadlines, and handle multiple tasks with accuracy.
