Job Description

The Production Assembler participates in all operational activities within the modification department, focusing on receiving, staging, unpackaging, modifying, repackaging, and shipping assembled cabinetry. This role combines hands-on woodworking and assembly tasks with accurate paperwork completion to ensure cabinets are modified according to order specifications and move efficiently through the production process.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the modification of assembled cabinets according to the description and specifications on each order.

• Work within a team environment to produce and modify cabinets, collaborating closely with team members while also completing tasks independently when required.

• Operate and maintain woodworking equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other tools used to unassemble, modify, and reassemble cabinetry.

• Receive, unload, and stage incoming assembled cabinetry for modification, ensuring products are handled safely and organized correctly.

• Unpackage cabinetry and materials for modification and prepare them for production activities.

• Repackage modified cabinetry accurately and securely to prepare it for shipment.

• Participate in shipping activities, including preparing modified cabinetry for outbound transport and ensuring proper documentation accompanies each order.

• Complete all paperwork associated with the modification and production process, including order documentation and records related to receiving, staging, modification, and shipping.

• Inspect cabinetry and components during and after modification to help ensure quality and accuracy.

• Use measuring tools, such as tape measures, to verify dimensions and confirm that modifications meet order requirements.

• Follow established safety procedures while operating tools and equipment and while working in warehouse and yard environments.

• Support general labor and production tasks as needed to maintain workflow and meet production schedules.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of production experience or similar experience in carpentry or woodworking.

• Hands-on experience with assembly work in a production or manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency using hand tools for assembly, disassembly, and modification of cabinetry.

• Proficiency using power tools commonly used in woodworking and cabinet modification.

• Ability to operate woodworking tools and equipment safely and effectively.

• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure correct modifications.

• Capability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.

• Attention to detail to follow order descriptions and ensure cabinets are modified correctly.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and also perform tasks independently.

• Experience working in a warehouse, production floor, or similar industrial environment.

• Familiarity with inspection practices to help verify quality and accuracy of finished products.

• Comfort working with multiple types of woodworking equipment and tools.

• Strong organizational skills to manage staging, unpackaging, modification, and repackaging activities efficiently.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manchester, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
