For more than a century, Dante has been a place where exceptional food, timeless cocktails, and genuine hospitality come together. As we open our newest location on Elizabeth Street in Nolita, we're seeking a passionate and driven Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team.
This is an opportunity to be part of a restaurant committed to craftsmanship, collaboration, and excellence at every level. Working alongside the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, the Sous Chef will help lead daily kitchen operations while fostering a culture of accountability, mentorship, and continuous growth.
We're looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in developing others, and is passionate about delivering consistently exceptional food and memorable guest experiences.
What You'll Do- Lead and support daily kitchen operations with professionalism, urgency, and attention to detail.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop line cooks and junior team members through hands-on leadership.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across every service.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, food safety, and sanitation.
- Assist with ordering, inventory management, scheduling, and labor controls.
- Support menu implementation, recipe execution, and seasonal changes.
- Collaborate with the culinary leadership team to achieve operational and financial goals.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen culture.
- 2–4 years of leadership experience in a high-volume, chef-driven, or fine dining restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and culinary technique.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- A hands-on leader who leads by example and remains composed under pressure.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- NYC Food Protection Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
