Skills in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion and care, and central line management. Wound care and post-op monitoring experience. Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills. Ability to coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams. Experience in discharge planning and patient education, particularly on renal and fluid management. Description: Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele is needed. The facility has a capacity of 637 licensed beds and holds a Level 1 Trauma designation. The unit comprises 20 beds with a census typically around 20. The patient population is diverse, including those who have experienced strokes and brain injuries. Common diagnoses include acute and chronic diseases, post-operative care, and co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and CHF. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6. Support staff includes CNAs, with 2-3 assigned per shift. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Cardiac Rhythm certifications are required. ACLS certification is preferred. Nurses will be responsible for IV starts, managing insulin and heparin drips, and adhering to cardiac monitoring protocols. Collaboration with a dedicated interdisciplinary team is essential for effective patient care. This role requires timely communication and coordination for effective discharge planning and patient education. Daily responsibilities involve patient assessments, medication administration, and providing comprehensive care to meet patient needs. Work in a team-oriented environment where busy workloads are managed collectively.
