Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Med Surg / Orthopedic Shift: Days (6:30 AM–7:00 PM) or Nights (6:30 PM–7:00 AM) Unit: 28 Med Surg beds 22 overflow beds Patient Ratio: 1:5 Contract Type: Travel RN Required Experience Med Surg experience required Orthopedic patient care experience preferred Able to care for: Total joint replacements (hips, knees, shoulders) Fractures COPD CHF Diabetes Sepsis Pneumonia Oncology Dementia IV antibiotic therapy Certifications ✅ AHA BLS (Required) Unit Details Charge nurse available CNA ratio approximately 1:10 Monitor tech available Heparin, IV antibiotics, anticoagulants, and narcotic infusions No titratable drips Self-scheduling Every 3rd weekend required Float to PCU and Behavioral Health (McDermott) as needed Important Submission Requirements Minimum 50-mile radius from facility (verified using driver's license) Driver's license required at submission Cannot currently be Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility (within the past year) RTO must be submitted upfront (no additional RTO after submission) Artificial nails are prohibited Open-book competency exam during orientation Must score 90% or higher or contract will be terminated Prescreen Auto Offer position This looks like a solid opportunity for experienced Med Surg RNs with orthopedic experience , especially those who are flexible with floating and comfortable in a fast-paced unit.
